Since
entering the field of golf course
architecture in 1964, Rees Jones has
since designed or remodeled over 100
golf courses, many of which are widely
recognized as being among the best
in the game.
After
graduating from Yale University in
1963 with a bachelor's degree, Jones
began work in the Department of Landscape Architecture, Harvard
University School of Design. Shortly after, he began his career
as a principal in Robert Trent Jones
Inc. In 1974, Jones established Rees
Jones, Inc. in his hometown of Montclair,
New Jersey and started to develop
a reputation as a creator of notable
courses. Jones has since continued
to build upon this reputation and
at the age of 37 was elected president
of the American Society of Golf Course
Architects, the youngest person ever
to hold that post.
